"God’s Awesome Power on Display"
Exodus 19:18 describes the awesome spectacle that
occurred when the Israelites arrived at Mount Sinai to receive the Ten
Commandments from God. The verse says, "Now Mount Sinai was wrapped in
smoke because the Lord had descended on it in fire. The smoke of it went up
like the smoke of a kiln, and the whole mountain trembled greatly."

God's power and glory. The smoke that enveloped the mountain symbolized the
presence of God, who had descended upon the mountain in fire. The smoke was so
